Terms of Service

These terms apply to everything you book or buy from The Art House — courses, workshops, day passes and memberships — whether online or in the studio. Please read them before you book.

Who we are

The Art House is a craft studio and shop on the midrachov at HaMeyasdim 42, Zichron Ya'akov. Registered business name: בית האומנות. Business number (ע.מ. / ח.פ.): 558646063.

You can reach us on 053-424-1063, or through the contact page.

What these terms cover

By booking a course or workshop, buying a pass or a membership, or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you are booking for someone else — a child, a friend, a group — you confirm you have their agreement to them too.

Booking a place

Courses and workshops have a limited number of places. A place is held only once payment has gone through and you have received a confirmation by email. Until then it stays open to anyone.

If a course is full you can join the waitlist. Being on a waitlist does not hold a place, and does not oblige you to take one if it comes free.

Prices and payment

All prices on this site are in new Israeli shekels and include VAT at the statutory rate. The price you see is the price you pay — nothing is added at checkout.

Payment is taken in full at the time of booking. Your confirmation email is your receipt, and a tax invoice is available on request.

Your right to cancel under Israeli law

Anything booked through this website is a distance sale (עסקת מכר מרחוק) under the Consumer Protection Law, 5741–1981. That law gives you a cancellation right which these terms cannot reduce or remove.

For a course or class you may cancel within 14 days of booking, provided your cancellation reaches us at least 14 days before the course begins. We may charge a cancellation fee of up to 5% of the price or ₪100, whichever is lower. Any refund is returned to the card you paid with, within 14 days of your notice.

People with a disability, senior citizens and new immigrants have a longer cancellation period under the same law. Tell us when you book or when you cancel, and we will apply it.

Our own cancellation terms

Outside the statutory period above, our own terms apply and they differ by what you have booked. They are set out in full on the cancellation policy page, which forms part of these terms.

If we have to cancel

Occasionally we may need to cancel a session — illness, a teacher unavailable, something outside our control. If that happens we will contact you as early as we can and offer you a place on another date or a full refund, whichever you prefer.

In the studio

You will be using sewing machines, scissors, irons and other equipment. Please follow the instructions you are given, and ask if you are unsure. We may ask anyone to stop using equipment, or to leave, if they are putting themselves or others at risk. Please tell us in advance about any allergy, injury or medical condition we should know about.

Children and young people

Children's courses and the open afternoon are booked by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the details given at booking and for collection afterwards. Outside a supervised class, children remain the responsibility of the adult who brought them. Please tell us about allergies or any support your child needs when you book.

Your personal information

We collect only what a booking needs — name, phone, email, and for children's courses the child's name and age. We do not sell it or pass it on, and we send marketing messages only to people who have asked for them. You can ask to see, correct or delete your details at any time.

Photographs and content

The text, photographs and designs on this site belong to The Art House and may not be reproduced without permission. We sometimes photograph classes and finished work for Instagram and for this site. If you would rather not appear, or that your child does not, just tell us and we will not photograph you.

Liability, changes and governing law

Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law does not allow it to be limited. Otherwise, we are not responsible for personal belongings brought into the studio, and taking part in a class is at your own risk.

We may update these terms from time to time; the ones that apply to your booking are those published on the day you booked. These terms are governed by Israeli law, and any dispute will be heard by the competent courts of the Haifa district.
