Come and make something. Stay for the coffee.
The Art House is a craft store and studio on the midrachov. Sewing, drawing, painting, crochet and more — in courses, in weekly drop-in mornings, or whenever you just feel like sitting down with a project. In English and Hebrew.

About us
Two mums who wanted somewhere to craft — so we built it.
We're two religious olim mums. Between us we spent years working in hi-tech, and somewhere along the way we both realised we wanted to build something different — something with our hands in it, and other people around.
What we kept wanting was somewhere to go regularly and make things with friends. Not a one-off class. Not a shop you walk in and out of. A room you could become a regular at, learn something new in, and sit in with a coffee while you finished a project.
Nobody was running it, so we opened it. The Art House is the place we wanted: a shop at the front with good materials, and a studio at the back with the machines, the table space and the company.
Come and See UsInside the studio
Everything's already here.
Sewing Machines & Equipment
Machines, thread, scissors, pins and all the bits that make sewing possible — whether you're taking up a hem or making something from scratch.
Painting & Craft Materials
Paint, brushes, paper, canvas and a well-stocked supply of craft materials for whatever you've got in mind.
A Cricut
For cutting, lettering and personalising. Useful for gifts, labels, cards and all the projects you didn't think you could make yourself.
Seven Craft Kits
Pick a kit off the shelf, find a seat and make it here. No planning, no shopping list, and no clearing up afterwards.
What we're about
A place to be, not just a place to buy.
Beginners first
Nobody here assumes you know what you're doing. Most people don't when they start — that's the normal way in, not the exception.
Regulars, not one-offs
The weekly groups exist so that crafting becomes a habit rather than a special occasion. Come every week, or come when you can.
English and Hebrew
We teach in both, so you can come in whichever language you think in — and sit next to someone who thinks in the other one.
Questions people ask before coming in
I'm not crafty at all. Is this for me?
Yes, and you'd be in good company. Most people who come through the door haven't sewn since school, or have never picked up a crochet hook. Our courses start at the very beginning, and at the weekly groups there is always someone happy to show you.
Do I need to bring anything?
No. Sewing machines, equipment, paint, brushes and craft materials are all here. If you'd rather work on something of your own — a garment that needs mending, a project you've already started — bring it along.
What's the difference between a course, a chug and a group?
A course is a series of taught sessions you sign up for, running in the afternoons and evenings. A chug is a weekly class for children aged nine and up, running from November through to June. A group is a weekly drop-in at the Art Cafe — come when you can, leave when you need to, and there's nothing to commit to.
Are you in English or Hebrew?
Both. We run in English and Hebrew, so come in whichever you're more comfortable with.
Can children come?
Yes. Youth Sewing and Youth Drawing & Painting run as weekly chugim for ages nine and up, and on Tuesday afternoons the studio opens up for children to come and make whatever they like.
Can I just buy materials without taking a class?
Of course. The front of the shop is a craft store — fabric, paint, yarn and craft supplies. We also stock seven different craft kits that you can buy and sit and make right here.
When are you open?
The shop is open Sunday to Thursday from 9:30 to 14:30, and Friday from 9:30 to 14:00. Courses, workshops and events run in the afternoons and evenings.
